Yes, there’s a plank we can use for shoulder stability, it’s all about what you focus on in the movement. This exercise is another that helps me keep the head of the upper arm centralised in the joint.
In this specific plank, I want you to focus and start the movement of the rotation in the shoulder – basically make your shoulder pull you around into side plank. Make sure the rest of the body follows in one piece. On the way back, you keep the movement slow by working the shoulder muscles eccentrically.
Plank is excellent training for the core as well, so why not keep it efficient and do this plank from time to time instead of one of your older versions…?!
